Jerry Jones refuses to single out Tony Romo for blame

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones refuses to single out Tony Romo for blame despite him throwing two interceptions in the final quarter of Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has refused to single out quarterback Tony Romo for criticism after he threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 37-36 defeat to the Green Bay Packers.

The first of the two interceptions led to the touchdown that gave the Packers their one-point lead having trailed by 23 points at half time, while the second cost them a chance to respond with a score of their own.

Talking about the second, Jones claimed that both Romo and receiver Cole Beasley had to share the blame for the mistake, but he also insisted that he saw why the misunderstanding took place.

"It was probably one you could take back and should take back. But still, I understand. I think it's a toss-up there as to who was at fault there," Jones told 105.3 The Fan.

"We just got the ball intercepted there and made a bad play. Beasley has a good reason for playing the ball the way he did, the way we read that play, and Romo has a reason for throwing the ball there."

The defeat left the Cowboys on the verge of missing out on the playoffs as they remain one win behind NFC East leaders the Philadelphia Eagles with just two games to play.
