Report: Raheem Morris expected to join Atlanta Falcons

Raheem Morris is reportedly expected to become the new defensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons, leaving his role at the Washington Redskins after three years.

Washington Redskins defensive backs coach Raheem Morris is expected to become the new defensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons, according to a report.

The Falcons fired Mike Smith at the end of the season following the club's failure to reach the playoffs, and are expected to replace him with Seattle Seahawks coach Dan Quinn after the Super Bowl.

Morris is poised to interview for the defensive coordinator position and is likely to land the job, leaving his role at the Redskins after three seasons with the club, reports the Washington Post.

The 38-year-old served as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for three seasons from 2009 to 2011 with a 17-31 record.
