Kieran Trippier signs new five-year deal

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier has committed his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract.

The 26-year-old ended the last campaign as the Lilywhites' first-choice option at right-back and is expected to continue in that role following Kyle Walker's recent departure.

Trippier joined Spurs from Burnley in a £3.5m deal in 2015, making 41 appearances during his two seasons at White Hart Lane, including 12 last term as the North London outfit finished second in the Premier League.

Spurs have now tied down the England international to a five-year deal, but it has been claimed that they are still on the lookout for another right-back to provide competition.

A Manchester City academy graduate, Trippier departed the Etihad Stadium in 2012 after failing to make the senior grade.
