Barry Bannan confirms that he has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal with Sheffield Wednesday.

Barry Bannan has confirmed that he has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Sheffield Wednesday.

The 26-year-old, who began his senior career at Aston Villa, joined the Owls from Crystal Palace last year.

This season, Bannan has featured 18 times for the Championship club, who currently sit seventh in the league table.

The midfielder confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: "Finally signed for another 3 and half years at Sheffield Wednesday. So happy to stay here loved it since day one now let's get promoted."

Bannan initially signed for Wednesday on a one-year deal in the summer of 2015.
