Rangers sign Graham Dorrans from Norwich City on three-year deal

Graham Dorrans says that he is "looking forward" to making an impact at Ibrox this season after returning to Scottish football with Rangers.

Graham Dorrans has finalised his 'dream' switch from Norwich City to Rangers, joining the Scottish club for a reported fee of £1.5m.

The 30-year-old, who grew up supporting the Gers, was also said to be on the radar of Championship club Sheffield Wednesday.

Dorrans has spent the past seven years in English football with West Bromwich Albion and Norwich, but he is delighted to move back north of the border with Rangers on a three-year deal.

"I want to come in and help the youngsters and I like to think I can bring a bit of experience having played at a high level for the last 10 years now," he told the club's official website. "I can't wait to start; it is something I have always dreamed of since I was a kid so I am looking forward to getting into training and getting the boots on. Once that day comes to run out at Ibrox it will be great.

"The manager has been great too. I will play where he wants me to play; I am just excited to come in here. I have been chatting to him for the last week or so, and he has been the driving force behind the move. I am looking forward to coming in and working with him.

"There are some big names coming in and we'll get four weeks behind us now training, hopefully we'll gel quickly and be ready for the first game."

Dorrans will play alongside Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace at Ibrox this coming season, two players he knows well from his time in the Scotland fold, though he is not currently thinking about a return to the national side.

"We have a good squad; we are adding some good quality players so hopefully we can push on," he added. "I haven't thought about Scotland, my mind is set on coming here, doing well, getting into the team and playing some games."

Rangers are having to prepare for a season without European football in 2016-17, having suffered a shock loss to minnows Progress Niederkorn in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.
