Neil Warnock set to take charge of Middlesbrough?

Neil Warnock has reportedly emerged as a surprise candidate to become Middlesbrough's next permanent manager.

Incumbent manager Jonathan Woodgate is set to lose his job following a poor start to the 2019-20 campaign that has seen Middlesbrough fall to 20th in the Championship table.

Warnock, on the other hand, recently left Cardiff City after three years at the club, during which time he took the Bluebirds into the Premier League.

According to The Sun, the 71-year-old is in line to replace Woodgate, with the latter's position at the Riverside becoming untenable.

Warnock has a remarkable wealth of experience in the dugout, managing 13 different clubs across a managerial career spanning 33 years.
