Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker unfazed by record transfer fee

Walker unfazed by record transfer fee

Kyle Walker has claimed that he is not thinking too much about the record fee which took him from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester City.

The Citizens paid in excess of £50m for the England right-back last week, making him the world's most expensive defender.

However, Walker says that the sum paid by his new club for his services will not affect his pursuit of trophies at the Etihad Stadium.

The 27-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's out of my hands. Whatever the two clubs decided to pay, that's nothing to do with me.

"I've just got to concentrate on what got me here - keep playing the football I was playing at Tottenham, keep wanting to learn, keep being enthusiastic and showing the desire on the field to go and win trophies, which is what I've come here for."

Walker became Man City's third summer signing following the arrivals of Bernardo Silva and Ederson, with Douglas Luiz also having joined following the Englishman's arrival.
