Live Commentary: Leeds United 0-1 Rotherham United - as it happened

See how Neil Redfearn's Rotherham United won for the first time under him against former club Leeds United, now managed by ex-Millers boss Steve Evans.

Two managers came up against their former clubs for the first time at Elland Road today as Leeds United hosted fellow Yorkshire side Rotherham United in the Championship.

It was Neil Redfearn who finished with a smile on his face as Rotherham won for the first time under him, while Steve Evans went down against the club he left earlier this season.

Read how it all unfolded in our minute-by-minute updates below.

Afternoon folks! The feature 3pm kickoff in the Championship this week should be a cracker. It's a Yorkshire derby between Leeds and Rotherham and especially interesting given the two managers in the dugouts. Team news on the way...

LEEDS XI: Silvestri; Wootton, Bellusci, Cooper, Berardi; Dallas, Cook, Murphy, Mowatt; Antenucci, Wood
Subs: Horton, Byram, Adeyemi, Buckley, Botaka, Erwin, Doukara

ROTHERHAM XI: Camp; Buxton, Kelly, Broadfoot, Mattock; G Ward, Smallwood, Frecklington, Newell; Clarke-Harris, Best
Subs: Collin, Collins, D Ward, Andreu, Barker, Derbyshire, Toffolo

It's an unchanged side for Leeds as Liam Cooper is passed fit to start at the back. Tom Adeyemi is back in the squad and starts on the bench.

For the Millers, both Stephen Kelly and Leon Best make their debuts. Can they make an impact for the league's bottom side?

Click here to see how the Championship table looks ahead of the 3pm kickoffs this afternoon. Leeds are 15th after back-to-back clean-sheet victories before the international break. Rotherham have lost four in a row and are without a win in seven. They're bottom and five points from safety.

H2H: Leeds have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four home games against the Millers (W1 D3), but Rotherham are unbeaten in their last five matches against the Whites, winning two and drawing three.

So, Neil Redfearn is back at Elland Road after leaving the club in the summer due to bad relations with Massimo Cellino, while for Evans it's the first time that he's faced Rotherham since leaving the club that he guided to successive promotions in 2013 and 2014. Should be a good'un!

Before kickoff La Marseillaise will be played in memory of those who lost their lives in the French capital attacks last weekend. Paris-born Leeds captain Sol Bamba, who is out for two weeks with an injury, lays a wreath as well:

KICKOFF! Rotherham, in their dark away kit, get us underway at Elland Road. Leeds all in white.

Decent start so far from Rotherham, who have conceded a league-high 18 first half goals this season.

First clear-cut shot of the match falls to the Millers as Newell picks out Best in the inside-right channel. The Millers' new signing shifts the ball onto his right foot before blazing wide of the near post. Leeds have done very little so far.

Berardi brings down Ward down the Rotherham right and that gives the visitors a free kick in a good crossing position. Newell's delivery is a good one and Silvestri misses when flapping at the ball but gets away with it.

The first goal of the 3pms in the Championship arrives at Portman Road as Ipswich take the lead against Wolves. Follow @SMChampionship on Twitter for the goals as they go in. Go on, do it.

Wood, who has scored six league goals from just nine shots on target this season, hits it straight at Camp from inside the box, but he was offside anyway. Dallas tucked home from the rebound and some think it's a goal, but they haven't seen the linesman's flag.

It was a very solid start by Rotherham, but Leeds are beginning to come into the game more and more.

BOOKING! First yellow card of the match for Rotherham left-back Mattock after he brought down Dallas.

SAVE! Mowatt, moments after dragging a shot miles wide, does much better with a first-time effort that Camp pushes away after scampering across his goal. That's the first shot on target from either team.

Leeds beginning to pile on the pressure here after their slow start. Antenucci's centre was a cross, but he directed it far too close to the goal and Camp was forced to tip it over.

Up the other end and Rotherham have a free kick in a great position after Bellusci brought down Clarke-Harris.

OFF THE POST! After the referee took an age to sort out the wall, Smallwood hits the post. BUT, it will be taken again because Antenucci encroached and has been booked.

Smallwood's second effort is nowhere near as good as his first as he hits the wall. Imagine if the first had gone in and he'd blown up and ordered a retake! There would have been uproar among the Rotherham players.

Today's referee is Keith Stroud, by the way, and the Leeds fans aren't happy with him over that free-kick farce. To be fair to him, Antenucci clearly started charging down before Smallwood had even hit it. It's not like rugby where you can charge when their run-up starts.

Another careless piece of officiating as Stroud points for a goal kick before changing his mind and giving Leeds a corner. Neither team is happy with him at the moment!

It's all settled down a bit in the last few minutes. Leeds have had 55% possession and five shots to Rotherham's two. The only two efforts on target have also been by the Whites, but they've got nothing to show for it.

Some news to bring you from the Premier League - Jamie Vardy has equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy's record of scoring in 10 straight games. He's just opened the scoring against Newcastle 👏

Dallas brings down Newell down the Rotherham left, but the resulting free kick comes to nothing as it's swung in and easily collected by Silvestri.

Two minutes added on before the interval.

Both teams have had corners in injury time, but neither came to anything. That should be that for the first half.

HALF-TIME: LEEDS 0-0 ROTHERHAM

Meh. Not much to report from the opening 45 at Elland Road. Rotherham started well and Leeds soon came into it. Mowatt, who has scored two wonder-goals in Leeds's last two wins, had the best chance but was denied by Camp. At the other end, Smallwood hit the post with a free kick, but it was ordered to be re-taken due to Antenucci encroaching.

Here's how it all stands at the break then in the Championship:

Not many goals then and what that means in the live table is that Leeds have dropped a place to 16th. Rotherham still bottom.

STAT: Leeds are going for back-to-back home victories for the first time since last November!

ROTHERHAM SUB: A change for the visitors, with Toffolo replacing Mattock.

CLOSE! My word! Leeds almost break the deadlock inside seven seconds at the start of the half as Antenucci lets fly from 20 yards and pulls his shot just wide. Quick, back to your seats!

A barnstorming start to the half, but the tepid nature of the match has now resumed. Leeds seeing more of the ball as they probe for the opener.

CHANCE! Wood's initial pass for Antenucci is behind the Italian, but he gets it back and then floats over a lovely cross that Antenucci doesn't really commit to. If he'd just flung himself at it he would have had an easy close-range header.

GOAL! LEEDS 0-1 ROTHERHAM (JOE NEWELL)

It's Rotherham's first effort on target and Newell's first for the club as he finds some space in the middle to head home Smallwood's perfectly-weighted cross.

BOOKING! Second Millers player into the book as Broadfoot is cautioned.

CHANCE! So close to an equaliser for the hosts as Wood rolls the ball into Murphy's path. Toffolo races across and just gets a touch on the ball and it loops over Camp and agonisingly wide.

Evans is yet to make a change for Leeds, but he has plenty of options on the bench in Botaka, Buckley, Erwin, Byram and Doukara.

SHOT! Good chance for the visitors to double their lead as the ball drops to Clarke-Harris in the box. He shoots quickly, but it's straight at Silvestri. Easy save for the Italian.

Today's attendance at Elland Road is 25,802, with 905 of those travelling Rotherham supporters.

BOOKING! First Leeds player into the book as Murphy is yellow-carded for bringing down Frecklington.

CHANCE! Great opportunity for Antenucci but he's fluffed it! Wood did well to nod the ball into his path and the Italian was only able to pull his first-time effort wide from 12 yards.

LEEDS SUBS: Evans makes his first changes, taking off Murphy and Dallas for Adeyemi and Botaka.

Half a chance for Rotherham as Frecklington loops a header over after Leeds conceded a needless corner thanks to Bellusci's wayward backpass. Around 20 minutes left!

Oh dear! It's all kicking off here as the two teams argue over a challenge from Leon Best.

RED CARDS! BEST AND BERARDI BOTH SENT OFF!

We're still not back underway at Elland Road. Best was sent off for angling his elbow into the face of Berardi. He then pushed the striker to the floor and seemed to dip his head towards Best's. Ugly scenes and you can see why both have been dismissed. Three game bans likely. Ten against 10 for the final 20 minutes or so.

Evans is fuming on the touchline about Berardi's dismissal. He clearly shoved Best over, but whether that was enough for a red card it's hard to tell. The game was already pretty open, but with two less players on the pitch it should be even more so now!

FORE RIGHT! Mowatt's cross is half-cleared to Cook and he takes on a first-time shot that is sliced wildly into the Kop.

BOOKING! Rotherham goalscorer Newell into the book for a body-check on Mowatt. Free kick in a good position.

Dear me. Centre-back Bellusci takes the free kick and shows why he plays in defence, not attack, by spooning it over the top.

ROTHERHAM SUB: Second change for the Millers as Ward takes Clarke-Harris's place in the lone-striking role.

Leeds are going to leave spaces in behind asa they chase the game and Ward's fresh legs could latch on to anything over the top.

BOOKINGS! Ward and Bellusci square up and push each other's heads against one other after Ward claimed that Bellusci had passed back to Silvestri. The defender did touch the ball, but it was not an intended pass.

LEEDS SUB: Erwin is on for his first-team debut, taking Cook's place. Leeds out of subs now.

Adeyemi tees up Botaka on the right of the area but his cross-cum-shot has too much on it and beats everyone in the area.

ROTHERHAM SUB: Newell off after seemingly netting the winner. Collins on in his place.

SIX minutes of added time. Loadsa time still to go.

CHANCE! Great ball in by Antenucci, but Wood can't get enough power on his header and Camp grasps the ball close to his chest.

Free kick for Leeds but Mowatt's delivery is woeful. It still somehow reaches Botaka, but his goalbound shot hits one of his teammate and bobbles out for a goal kick.

BIG block in the area to deny Erwin after some neat work down the right from Botaka. Leeds still have the ball but then Antenucci produces a woeful cross.

SAVE! Rotherham almost seal the win as Ward surges forward down the right before being denied by Silvestri. Rotherham will just run out the clock now.

FULL-TIME: LEEDS 0-1 ROTHERHAM

A first win in charge for Neil Redfearn as Rotherham end a four-game losing streak at his old club. He's being very reserved at the moment, but he will be delighted inside given how Leeds treated him over the summer.

Joe Newell scored the only goal of the game with a well-directed header. Both teams had a man sent off - Berardi and Best - after a second-half altercation.

Before we go, I'll leave you with the Championship table. Good news for Rotherham, they're off the bottom. Leeds drop a place to 16th. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
