Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia confirms that his club have signed Albert Adomah from Middlesbrough on transfer deadline day.

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has confirmed that his club have signed Albert Adomah from Middlesbrough.

Adomah, 28, scored eight times in 47 appearances for Boro last season as Aitor Karanka's side secured a return to the Premier League.

The attacker also appeared in two of Middlesbrough's three Premier League games at the start of this season, but has now returned to Championship football after agreeing terms with Villa.

Adomah, who has scored twice in 18 appearances for the Ghanaian national team, joins Villa with the club sitting 16th in the Championship table after collecting five points from an available 15 this term.
