Sharif Sharifov wins 84kg freestyle gold

Azerbaijan's Sharif Sharifov has won gold in the men's 84kg freestyle wrestling final this evening.

Sharifov got off to a great start, dominating opponent Jaime Yusept Espinal of Puerto Rico in the first round, eventually taking it 6-1.

Sharifov was also on top in the second round, taking it 2-0 to win 8-1 overall.

Georgia's Dato Marsagishvili beat Soslan Gattsiev in the first of the bronze medal bouts, while Iran's Ehsan Naser Lashgari won the second of the bronze medals against Ibrahim Bolukbasi.
