Om breaks weightlifting world record

North Korean weightlifter Om Yun Chol has broken his own world record in the clean and jerk at the Asian Games in South Korea.

Olympic champion Om lifted 170kg in the men's 56kg class to beat his record by 1kg and claim his country's first gold medal at the games.

After his record-breaking lift, Om told reporters: "I wanted to break the record, so I worked hard to bring success to [North Korean leader] Kim Jong-un."

Om, the 2013 world champion, is now one of only five lifters in weightlifting history to lift more than three times his own weight.
