Russia whitewash Team GB in women's volleyball

Team GB's women's volleyball team have fallen to a 3-0 defeat to Russia in their opening match of the tournament.

Team GB competed evenly with their more illustrious opponents in the first set but lost 25-19.

However, Russia dominated the second set 25-10 before they comfortably earned a 3-0 whitewash with a 25-16 victory in the final set.

Their next match will take place against Algeria on Monday evening.
