Turkey on collision course with host nation Azerbaijan in women's volleyball

Unbeaten Turkey face a potential semi-final tie against host nation Azerbaijan, should they overcome Russian Federation at the last-eight stage in Baku on Tuesday.

Turkey will face Russian Federation at the quarter-final stage of the women's volleyball event at the European Games.

The Group A winners, who stormed into the knockout stages without dropping a single set, must now overcome seventh-in-the-world Russia at Crystal Hall.

Elsewhere, Azerbaijan and the Netherlands will face off for a place in the final four, while Poland and Germany have also been paired together in this morning's draw.

Group B winners Serbia must navigate past Belgium if they are to keep their Baku medal hopes on track, meanwhile, with a match against Poland or Germany to come in the semi-finals should they advance through.

The quarter-finals get underway on Tuesday morning in the Azerbaijani capital.
