Tazegul edged Mohamed Bagheri Motamed from Iran in a keenly-contested gold medal bout.
The Turkish star's variety of attack was the key, landing with a series of strong kicks to defeat Motamed 6-5.
Motamed conceded a penalty point in the second round, a mistake that ultimately proved costly.
