Great Britain's Victoria Bromley loses 3-0 to Anzhelika Kosacheva

Bromley loses table tennis opener

Great Britain's Paralympic table tennis player Victoria Bromley has slumped to a 3-0 defeat to Russia's Anzhelika Kosacheva.

The British hopeful failed to get off to a strong start in the Group B clash, whereas her Russian opponent showed early signs of dominance by taking points from Bromley's serve.

Kosacheva continued to control the table and launched to an easy 11-5 win in the first set, which was then swiftly followed by a convincing 11-1 win in the second.

Bromley tried to launch a comeback in the third set but Kosacheva managed to wrap up the contest 12-10 in their opening Group B fixture.
