China claims men's team gold

China secure gold in the men's team competition after a straight sets victory over South Korea.

The Chinese table tennis squad have continued their success at the Olympics after the men's team claimed gold at the ExCel.

Wang Hao and Zhang Jike displayed their superiority in the first set as they raced into a lead that could not be reduced by South Korea's Seungmin Ryu and Sangeun Oh.

After taking the opener 11-4, the Chinese duo continued their dominance in the second set and despite South Korea improving, Wang and Zhang extended their lead with an 11-4 victory.

Ryu and Oh performed admirably in the third set but they couldn't reduce the deficit, with China recording an 11-6 triumph to claim the gold medals in straight sets.

Germany took bronze in the men's team competition with a win over Hong Kong earlier in the day.
