James Guy guides Great Britain to historic 4x200m freestyle relay gold

James Guy has guided Great Britain to the nation's first ever men's 4x200m freestyle relay gold medal at the World Championships in Kazan.

Daniel Wallace, Robbie Renwick, Calum Jarvis and Guy, who won gold in the 200m freestyle final earlier this week, smashed the British record with 7:04.33 in today's showdown.

Ryan Lochte pushed the USA into the lead by 0.54 of a second after the first leg, while Britain clocked fourth after Wallace's stint.

GB were hanging on to the coat-tails of the leaders, but Renwick was able to claw his way back into it to beat Australia into third at the halfway stage.

Jarvis maintained Britain's position in third before handing over to world champion Guy to bring the team home, and the 19-year-old impressed with a 1:44.74 split to surge ahead of the field and snatch the crown for his nation.

USA took silver and Australia nabbed bronze.
