Henshaw smashes record to claim silver

Great Britain's Charlotte Henshaw broke her own European record on her way to clinching silver in the SB6 100m breaststroke final at the IPC World Championships in Glasgow on Tuesday.

The Paralympic silver medallist clocked 1:36.94 in the showdown, while Australian 13-year-old Tiffany Thomas Kane took top spot on the podium and four-time Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds claimed bronze.

"I knew I was going to have a tough race after this morning," swimming.org quotes Henshaw as saying. "I swam a PB this morning and my real aim was to be relaxed for the final and try and go another best time - that was my aim coming into the meet and I'm so happy to have been able to do it twice."

Claire Cashmore, who won European gold last year, claimed her 10th World Championship medal by finishing second in the SB8 100m breaststroke final.
