China claim women's 4x100m medley relay gold

China dominate the women's 4x100m medley relay final to win the gold medal at the World Swimming Championships in Kazan.

China have won the final gold medal at this year's World Swimming Championships in Kazan with victory in the 4x100m women's medley.

It was Australia who took the early lead as Emily Seebohm set the pace on the opening backstroke leg, but the Chinese team of Fu Yuanhui, Shi Jinglin, Lu Ying and Shen Doo soon moved ahead to lead for the final 300m.

Double butterfly gold-medal winner Sarah Sjostrom put in a fast time for Sweden as they set a new European record to claim silver, while Bronte Campbell needed a strong performance on freestyle to secure the final podium spot for the Australian team, who were down in fifth going into the final 100m.

The United States had been the defending champions, and were up to second midway through the race, but slipped down the fourth, while Great Britain initially finished sixth, but were disqualified for a mistake early in the race.
