Miley makes 200m individual medley final

Hannah Miley has qualified for the final of the women's 200m individual medley final at the Olympics this evening.

The Team GB hopeful finished second in her semi-final with a finish time of 2:10.89, a fraction of a second behind Hungary's Katinka Hosszu.

Chinese favourite Shiwen Ye set a new Olympic record with her time of 2:08.39 during the second heat, in which five swimmers were quick enough to qualify.

Miley went through to tomorrow evening's final as the seventh-fastest qualifier ahead of slowest qualifier, Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe.
