Team GB on course for medal in 4x100m medley relay at European Games

Team GB finish second in qualifying behind Russia ahead of this afternoon's final in the women's 4x100m medley relay in Baku.

Team GB finished second in qualifying to reach the final of the women's 4x100m medley relay in Baku this morning.

The teenage quartet of Rebecca Sherwin, Emma Cain, Abbie Wood and Darcy Deakin clocked a time of 4:13.43 in the first heat.

Only Russian Federation could do better, with their team coming first in the second heat thanks to a time of 4:09.96.

Germany (4:13.93) look to be Great Britain's nearest rivals, while Netherlands (4:16.63) were further back to finish fourth overall.

Team GB's Wood has already tasted success at the European Games, winning gold in the 400m individual medley on Tuesday.
