Germany take open water team 5k gold in Kazan

Germany take home the gold medal in the open water team 5k final at the World Swimming Championships in Kazan.

Germany have claimed the gold medal in the open water team 5k final at the World Swimming Championships in Kazan.

Christian Reichert, Rob Muffels and Isabelle Franziska Harle came home in a time of 55:14.5 ahead of Brazil and the Netherlands.

The Brazilians recorded a time of 55:31.2, while the Dutch narrowly missed out on the silver.

Reichert and Harle were part of the German team that took home the gold at the 2013 World Swimming Championships in Barcelona.
