Olympic champion Ellie Robinson adds a Commonwealth gold to her collection with a dominant victory at the 2018 Games on the Gold Coast.

Team England swimmer Ellie Robinson has added a Commonwealth gold medal to her Olympic title with success in the women's S7 50m butterfly on the Gold Coast.

Robinson got off to a much better start than the other three competitors in the final, and never looked like giving up her lead at the Optus Aquatics Centre.

The 16-year-old finished in a time of 35.72 - almost two seconds quicker than her nearest competitor - to emerge with the top prize from her first Commonwealth Games experience.

Canadian duo Sarah Mehain and Tess Routliffe claimed silver and bronze respectively, but neither was able to put up a genuine challenge to England's Olympic champion.

There was disappointment for host nation Australia, meanwhile, as Tiffany Thomas Kane finished fourth and missed out on a place on the podium.
