Chris Walker-Hebborn to use Glasgow experience in Rio 2016 bid

Commonwealth gold medallist Chris Walker-Hebborn has insisted that he will use the experience gained from Glasgow 2014 to push for the Rio Olympics in two years' time.

The 24-year-old won his gold in the 100m backstroke final, but failed to medal in the 50m backstroke final tonight at Tollcross.

When asked by Sports Mole if his Glasgow campaign is a stepping stone to Rio, Walker-Hebborn said: "Yeah, definitely.

"They've been a huge leap forward for me, but there's still things I can work on. I'll just take each year as it comes and hopefully I'll be firing on all cylinders in Rio."

Walker-Hebborn's England teammate Liam Tancock managed to win bronze in the 50m backstroke final.
