Liam Tancock determined to be at his quickest in 50m backstroke final

Tancock determined to 'race fast' in final

Team England star Liam Tancock has refused to predict that there is a place for him on the podium in the 50m backstroke after qualifying for the final at Tollcross.

The 29-year-old has the chance to add a second medal to his campaign at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games after winning bronze in last night's 100m backstroke final.

When asked by Sports Mole if he is confident of securing a 50m backstroke medal, Tancock said: "Who knows, but I'm confident of going out there and racing fast, that's for sure."

Tancock's teammate Chris Walker-Hebborn also qualified by finishing second in the semi-final.
