England's Elizabeth Simmonds: 'I'll learn from Glasgow 2014 experience'

Simmonds: 'Glasgow 2014 is a learning curve'

Team England swimmer Elizabeth Simmonds has claimed that she will learn from her experience at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games after failing to earn an individual medal.

The 23-year-old, who won silver in the Delhi Games in 2010, failed to reach the podium in tonight's final at Tollcross after finishing fourth in a time of 2:09.29.

"You learn more and more about yourself every time you race and it's hard not to be emotional about it, but, at the same time there's definitely stuff that you can take away from it," Simmonds told Sports Mole. "You go and sit down with your coach and learn stuff for the future."

Simmonds finished a position lower in the 100m backstroke final yesterday.
