Adam Peaty happy with "bonus" silver medal at Glasgow 2014

Adam Peaty tells Sports Mole that his silver medal at Glasgow 2014 is a "bonus" because his main focus doesn't lie in the 50m breaststroke.

England swimmer Adam Peaty has described his silver medal from the 50m breaststroke final as a "bonus" due to his main focus being elsewhere.

The 19-year-old specialises in the 100m, but was able to add to his gold-medal triumph by finishing behind South Africa's Cameron van der Burgh in a time of 26.78s.

"I don't really focus on the 50m anyway because it's not an Olympic event and it doesn't really fit into my category," Peaty told Sports Mole. "I just focus on the 100m and this is kind of a bonus. I just wanted to go out there, enjoy the crowd and just give this crowd a good show.

"The training that I've just come through winter has just paid off, but I am more than happy with that time."

England have scooped 24 medals at Tollcross, with one day left to go.
