Team England's Roberto Pavoni: 'I can't wait to get started at Commonwealths'

Roberto Pavoni admits that he "can't wait to get started" at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Team England swimmer Roberto Pavoni has admitted that he "can't wait to get started" at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The 23-year-old, who begins his medal campaign in the pool on Friday, has been making the most of his time in the Glasgow-based Athletes' Village.

"I can't wait to get started," the Brentwood Gazette quotes Pavoni as saying. "It began building at the holding camp, but now that we're in the Village it's starting to hit home.

"We're in a three-storey house and they've reused the furniture from the homes in the Olympic Village, which is bringing back a lot of memories.

"It was great being back at the Olympic pool. I can't believe how good a job they've done in turning the whole park into somewhere it can be used by the public, not just for sport but somewhere to relax and take the family."

Pavoni follows up Friday's 200m individual medley event with the 200m butterfly on Saturday and 400m individual medley on Tuesday.
