Siobhan-Marie O'Connor: 'Response to Commonwealth Games success has been crazy'

English swimmer Siobhan-Marie O'Connor has admitted that the response to her success at the Commonwealth Games has been overwhelming.

The 18-year-old took home six medals from her time in Glasgow, including gold in the 200m individual medley, and she claims that it was difficult to battle the nerves prior to her events.

"It has been a mad week - especially since I've finished. It hasn't really sunk in yet," O'Connor told BBC Radio Bristol. "It is all pretty crazy, but the support I've had has been great and the response I've had has made it even better.

"I felt nervous because I was swimming well and I'd had some good results. I knew this was an opportunity I was never going to get again."

O'Connor won a gold, four silvers and one bronze at the Games.
