Higgins wins fourth Welsh Open title

John Higgins won his fourth Welsh Open title on Sunday by beating Ben Woollaston 9-3 in the final in Cardiff.

The 39-year-old secured a 4-3 lead with breaks of 84 and 105 and went on to claim the five remaining frames to take the title.

"It was tough and it's great to come out winning," Higgins told BBC Sport. "It feels amazing to win again and Ben's had a great tournament, he's beaten some great players."

Sunday's triumph was Higgins's first title win since the Shanghai Masters in 2012.
