Mark Allen, Marco Fu through to quarter-finals

Mark Allen and Marco Fu have booked their places in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship.

Allen defeated an under-performing Ali Carter 6-2 at the Barbican in York.

Meanwhile, Fu claimed a shock 6-3 defeat over world number one Mark Selby.

The two victors will now meet for a place in the final four.
