Great Britain trio miss out on 10m air rifle final spot

Great Britain trio Di Coates, Karen Butler and Mandy Pankhurst have all failed to qualify for the women's 10m air rifle SH1 final.

Coates, who already has three Paralympic medals to her name, started off impressively with an opening round of almost perfect 10s, which placed her in fourth position after 30 minutes of the qualifying round.

Despite a strong start, the 58-year-old dropped out of the top eight after racking up a few nines and could only rely on her competitors to stumble in order to claim a qualifying spot.

Coates finished outside the top eight by two points while her compatriots Butler and Pankhurst finished in 12th and 16th place respectively.

China's Zhang Cuiping set the highest score of 396.
