Reports: Ainslie will not compete in Rio

Olympic sailing champion Ben Ainslie will not compete at the 2016 Olympic Games, according to reports.

Ainslie won his fourth Olympic gold medal at London 2012 to become the most successful sailor in Olympic history.

However, he has suffered ongoing problems with his back and he has reportedly made the decision to retire from Olympic sailing.

The 35-year-old won silver at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, before achieving gold at each of the four Olympics held since 2000.

Ainslie will now focus his attention on winning the Americas Cup.
