Ainslie auctions off Finn sails

Sir Ben Ainslie aims to raise money for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation by auctioning off three Finn sails used during his Olympic triumphs.

The Brit has placed the sails, which were used during his gold-medal successes at Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012, on online auction site eBay.

Currently, the London 2012 sail has received the most bids of more than £1,000, while the other two up for sale have accumulated under £400 each so far.

All proceeds will go to the Foundation, which is in memory of British sailor Andrew Simpson, who died during a training session for the America's Cup last year.
