Sir Ben Ainslie: 'America's Cup preparation is intense'

Sir Ben Ainslie insists that there is "drive and determination" within his team to get preparations right for the America's Cup.

Olympic sailing star Sir Ben Ainslie has insisted that he and his teammates have the "drive and determination" to get everything right for the America's Cup.

The 38-year-old has set up base in Portsmouth, which will host the World Series from July 23 to 26.

"I am absolutely delighted that that vision has started to come to fruition, in terms of getting the base firmly here and getting the rights to the World Series," Ainslie told The News.

"There is an intensity to ensure we are as prepared as we can be. It's a very intense period. Everyone is working flat out. There is a real drive and determination."

The cup qualifiers will move to Sweden from August 28 to 30.
