Dean Schofield wants Worcester Warriors momentum

Worcester captain Dean Schofield believes that his side's first win of the season against London Irish can help them climb up the Aviva Premiership table.

Worcester Warriors captain Dean Schofield has insisted that his side's first win of the season against London Irish can now help them climb up the table.

Aleki Lutui, David Lemi, Semisi Taulava and Jon Clarke all went over at Sixways to earn the Warriors a resounding 35-11 victory and get them off the mark at the fifth attempt.

"I speak for all the lads when I say we're delighted with the victory. It's been a long time coming but we've deserved a win and we've done it tonight," Schofield told the club's official website.

"I said it earlier in the week - we needed to kickstart our season and that's what we've been waiting for."

The win has lifted Worcester up to eighth in the Aviva Premiership table.
