Richard Hill slams penalty try decision

Worcester Warriors coach Richard Hill slams the awarding of a penalty try that cost his side a 29-23 loss at Gloucester in the Aviva Premiership on Friday.

Worcester Warriors coach Richard Hill has hit out at officials after a late penalty try saw his side lose 29-23 at Gloucester Rugby in the Aviva Premiership on Friday.

Errie Claassens was sent off for tripping Jonny May at the Kingsholm Stadium before referee David Rose awarded the score with the help of the Television Match Official.

The try was then converted to give the hosts the narrow six-point victory.

"It wasn't a penalty try," Hill told Sky Sports News. "Paul Hodgson was covering across behind Errie.

"Jonny May shouldn't have been tripped. I can't say he would definitely have scored but it was definitely a penalty."

The defeat has left Gloucester eight points from the relegation zone in the table.
