Hayman named Toulon captain

Former New Zealand prop Carl Hayman has been named as Toulon's new captain following the retirement of Jonny Wilkinson.

Wilkinson called time on a glittering 17-year career at the end of last season after guiding Toulon to both the Heineken Cup and the Top 14 title.

Hayman joined the French club in 2010 following a three-year spell with Wilkinson's former club Newcastle Falcons.

The 34-year-old won 45 caps for the All Blacks between 2001 and 2007.
