Steffon Armitage to wait for failed drugs test decision

Armitage to wait for drugs decision

Toulon flanker Steffon Armitage will have to wait until next week to find out whether he will be suspended for failing a drugs test.

The England international tested positive for the banned substance morphine after his side's Top 14 final defeat to Toulouse at the end of last season. Armitage has always claimed his innocence over the matter.

The 27-year-old attended a hearing held by the French Rugby Federation's anti-doping arm on Friday before he was told that his fate would be revealed next week.

Toulon have stood by Armitage by insisting that he tested positive after taking approved painkillers for a back problem.
