Six Nations has £12m prize fund

This year's Six Nations tournament has a reported prize fund of £12m.

The winners of the championship stand to make £3.7m, with an estimated £800,000 bonus if a Grand Slam is achieved.

The distribution of the prize fund means that all participating nations will be awarded cash for taking part.

Even the Wooden Spoon holders stand to make £750,000, according to The Rugby Paper.

This year's tournament is expected to attract a television audience of 120m people and average weekly attendances of 70,000, giving the annual competition an estimated worth of £1.2bn.
