Hayden Smith rejoins Saracens following NFL stint

Saracens confirm that lock forward Hayden Smith has returned to the club following an 18-month stint in NFL.

Saracens have confirmed that lock forward Hayden Smith has rejoined the club following a spell in NFL.

The 28-year-old spent 18 months playing for the New York Jets as a tight end but has decided to return to rugby union.

"I learned a huge amount in the NFL and various elements that will help me become a better rugby player," Smith told the club's official website.

"There is nothing like the Saracens environment. It's fantastic to be back."

Smith initially signed for the Sarries in 2008.
