Mark McCall: 'Saracens not good enough against Exeter Chiefs'

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall slams the performance of his team following their defeat to Exeter Chiefs.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has hit out at his players following their narrow defeat at home to Exeter Chiefs.

A victory would have seen Sarries book their place in the Aviva Premiership playoffs, but a 24-20 loss at Allianz Park means that the Chiefs have now replaced them in fourth spot in the table.

McCall's team must beat London Welsh next weekend and hope that other results go their way if they want to seal a top-four finish.

"To let them score three tries and in the manner they scored them just isn't good enough," he is quoted as saying by Premiershiprugby.com. "Every one of them felt like a slow and inevitable death.

"Outside that we had some chances ourselves - at the start and end of the second half we had some big chances. We didn't take those chances and it's hugely disappointing."

Saracens have now lost their last three matches in all competitions.
