Saracens edge closer to Heineken Cup qualification with a 20-16 win over Biarritz at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

Saracens held off a late fightback from French club Biarritz to record a slender 20-16 victory in the Heineken Cup at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

England hopeful Owen Farrell was the main points scorer for Sarries, kicking three penalties in the opening 40 minutes, before converting two more late in the contest.

The main difference between the two teams was a 19th minute try from Ben Spencer, which Farrell failed to convert.

Dimitri Yachvili scored all of the points for visiting Biarritz, a haul that included a converted try and two penalties.

The victory all but confirms Saracens' progression to the next round of the tournament.
