Saracens narrowly beat Sale Sharks

Saracens edge out Sale Sharks for their second win of the campaign in the European Rugby Champions Cup.

Saracens have secured a narrow 19-15 win over Sale Sharks in a closely-fought match in the European Rugby Champions Cup this afternoon.

The home side made an early breakthrough when Magnus Lund made the most of a lineout to dive over, but Owen Farrell found the line for Saracens just three minutes later to cut their lead.

Penalties from Farrell and Charlie Hodgson ensured that the visitors were ahead at the break, but their lead was just one point.

Mako Vunipola extended their advantage just a few minutes after the restart, but Andrei Ostrikov responded for Sale, having been set up by a Lund pass.

Farrell sealed the win with a late drop goal, giving Saracens just their second win of the campaign to keep them in contention in Pool One.
