Sale Sharks have appointed Dan Braid as the club's new team captain ahead of the Aviva Premiership season.
Braid has been given the honour following his arrival at the club on New Year's Day and impressing throughout the season after making his debut against the Saracens.
Director of rugby Steve Diamond told the club's official website: "Dan is a not only a great player he is a natural leader and is very popular among the squad we have assembled at Sale Sharks for the coming season."
Braid scored three tries in 12 games last season.
