Tony Hanks leaves Sale Sharks

Sale Sharks have announced that Tony Hanks has left the club with immediate effect and by mutual consent.

The decision comes after the Sharks' 45-9 thrashing by Saracens last night, which was Sale's tenth defeat of a disappointing season.

A club statement read: "It has been a season of great change at Sale Sharks and I would like to thank Tony for his help in implementing that change.

"The owners, directors, players and supporters all wish Tony well in the future. In the meantime our work continues."

Hanks joined Sale in July of last year and leaves them seventh in the Aviva Premiership.
