Sale Sharks chief executive Steve Diamond admits his concern after taking charge of first-team affairs at the club.

Sale Sharks chief executive Steve Diamond has admitted that he is concerned for the club's future after taking charge of first-team affairs.

Bryan Redpath was removed from his position as director of rugby on Monday, while former New Zealand coach John Mitchell has taken a full-time role at the Aviva Premiership outfit.

Diamond told the BBC: "The whole fabric of the club is in danger of going into oblivion. The club's 150 years old and we don't want it going out of the Premiership."

The Sharks have lost their first seven matches of the new season, making it their worst ever start to a Premiership campaign.
