Harlequins lift LV= Cup

Quins lift LV= Cup

Harlequins have won the 2013 Anglo-Welsh LV= Cup with a 32-14 win over Sale Sharks in the final at Sixways.

Harlequins made the most of their early chances to take a 12-point lead, with Tom Williams and Tom Guest both scoring tries in the opening half hour.

Danny Cipriani reduced Quins' advantage at the start of the second half with a penalty kick, but a quick break by the London side resulted in a try for Tom Casson.

Johnny Leota got Sharks back into the game with just over 20 minutes remaining, scoring Sale's first try of the match.

Leota's score started a strong spell of possession for Salford-based club, but Harlequins' defence held strong, preventing the side from crossing the whitewash again.

It is the first time that Harlequins have won the tournament since 1991.
