Northampton Saints claim the win

Northampton Saints beat Ospreys 29-17 in this afternoon's Heineken Cup clash.

Northampton Saints held off a late fightback from Ospreys to confirm a 29-17 win in the Heineken Cup clash this afternoon.

Stephen Myler gave the Saints the lead after just two minutes with a penalty goal, before adding a second on 14 minutes to extend their early advantage.

Two minutes later, Dan Biggar struck with a penalty of his own to give the home side their first points of the game.

Myler showed impressive accuracy to add another two penalties in four minutes before half time and open up a healthy lead.

George North increased Saints's advantage a minute into the second half with a try.

Rhys Webb gave the Ospreys some hope on 63 minutes with a try, before Biggar added a conversion soon after.

George Pisi increased Saints' lead again with a try on 71 minutes, although Ospreys soon pushed forward to inspire a late fightback.

Alun Wyn Jones gave the hosts a chance with a try on 74 minutes, while Biggar was on hand again with a conversion.

However, Glenn Dickson soon confirmed the win for the away side with a try and conversion on 77 minutes.
