Chris Ashton likely to leave Northampton Saints

Northampton Saints coach Jim Mallinder has suggested that winger Chris Ashton is likely to leave the club.

The 24-year-old, whose current contract expires at the end of 2012, has been linked with a move to Saracens.

"There's not an offer on the table, because his agent doesn't want to talk to us," Mallinder told BBC Look East.

"We've not had discussions and I think his mind is elsewhere. If he wanted to stay, we'd talk to him."

Ashton joined the Saints from rugby league side Wigan Warriors in 2007.
